Work Schedule and Hours

Part‑time faculty may work day, evening, and/or weekend shifts, possibly at multiple locations (San Marcos and/or off‑campus and distance education). The weekly load is limited to 67%.

Compensation

Initial placement hourly range: $75.81 – $119.20 (instructional); $74.60 – $117.69 (non‑instructional).

Job Duties

The Graphic Communications department seeks part‑time instructors to teach Graphic Arts, including courses in Drone / UAV Instruction.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Any bachelor’s degree or higher and at least two years of professional experience.
  • Any associate degree and at least six years of professional experience.
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to either of the above. Applicants who lack the specific minimum qualifications must complete and attach the Application for Equivalency form (

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience ensuring safety, mission planning, and manual flight emergency procedures, and autonomous flight planning.
  • Experience teaching maneuvering and regulations.
  • Experience collecting/recording digital, multimedia, and other data.
  • Experience using drones in various settings (agricultural fields, wildlife preserves, delivery, disaster mitigation, insurance, inspection, first responders, filmmaking, photography, mapping, surveying, real estate).
