Course Description
:
This course introduces business analytics concepts and tools used in various business functions. It is divided into two distinct parts: predictive and prescriptive modeling/analytics. The predictive analytics section covers the use of statistical data to understand and solve business problems, including descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, ANOVA, and simple/multiple regression analysis. Statistical data‑mining models are also discussed. The prescriptive analytics section covers deterministic optimization models and introduces statistical software and spreadsheet optimization.
Required qualifications
:
- A master’s degree in business administration or a related discipline
- Active, current industry experience in an analytics‑related position
Preferred qualifications
:
- A doctorate or terminal degree in a relevant field
- Previous teaching experience at a four‑year university or community college
- Demonstrated intercultural competence and a commitment to serving the campus community in teaching and, as applicable, service
Salary commensurate with degree level and experience.
Salary range for anticipated hiring:
- $5,507 – $6,677 per full‑time month (Lecturer A – Academic Year)
