Job Overview
Location:
Chula Vista campus. The Admissions and Outreach Coordinator (AOC) is responsible for providing academic advising and counseling, support, and admissions services to prospective students, continuing Extended Learning (EL) students, and students with difficult circumstances.
- Provide admissions information and respond to related inquiries.
- Evaluate and process admissions applications for programs administered by EL.
- Offer overall graduation requirement advising and counseling to support successful retention and graduation.
- Evaluate academic progress and process graduation evaluations.
- Use judgment and knowledge to recommend solutions for admissions and advising related issues and procedures.
- Assist with the coordination and implementation of retention strategies.
- Determine approaches and techniques to utilize in advisement situations.
- Participate with leadership in Chula Vista EL program development.
- Assist in the planning and participation of recruitment and community outreach activities in Chula Vista and regionally.
- Act as a liaison to internal and external departments for issues related to admissions, advising, and graduation.
Full‑time, temporary, exempt position ending on or before June 30, 2027. Reappointment is dependent on performance and budgetary considerations. The university reserves the right to terminate the appointment earlier.
Pay, Benefits and Work ScheduleAnnual salary: $5,083 per month (salary range $5,083 – $7,228 per month, commensurate with experience).
Eligible for a broad range of benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurances; retirement (CalPERS); tuition waiver; vacation and sick leave; 15 paid holidays (14 scheduled on specific days and 1 Personal Holiday that may be taken at any time).
The position requires in‑person work on campus.
