Lecturer - CHEM 202L: Organic Chemistry Lab (Fall 2026

Position

Part‑time Lecturer – Academic Year, Fall 2026 at California State University San Marcos, Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

Lecture CHEM 202L:
Organic Chemistry Lab, including planning and delivering instruction, developing assignments and assessments, and providing laboratory training in organic chemistry techniques.

Second course in a sequence designed to introduce students majoring in science to the properties of organic compounds. The sequence covers bonding structure, stereo chemistry, nomenclature, chemical and physical properties of each functional group, acid/base phenomena, reaction mechanisms and kinetics, organic synthesis, and an introduction to spectroscopic structure determination.

• Master of Science in Chemistry
• Experience teaching chemistry at the college level

• Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry
• Experience teaching a course in analytical chemistry or instrumental analysis
• Intercultural competence and a commitment to serving the campus community in teaching and service

Anticipated hiring salary range: $5,507–$8,000 per full‑time month. Lecturer A range: $5,507–$6,677. Lecturer B range: $6,221–$13,224. The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.

Duty days:
Tuesdays, 8:00–8:50 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.–1:45 p.m. Modality:
