Literature and Writing Studies Pool

General Education Writing (GEW) within the department of Literature and Writing Studies at CSUSM accepts applications on an ongoing basis for our pool of part‑time lecturers. Salary is commensurate with credential and experience.

Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester. This applicant pool may be used to fill vacant positions as needed throughout the academic year. Applications in this pool are only good for the current academic year, which will close effective May 31. If you wish to be considered for the next academic year, you must apply to the new pool as it becomes available by June 15.

• A doctorate or terminal degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field.
• Work in California is a condition of employment, per the CSU Out‑of‑State Employment Policy.

• Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community in teaching and (where applicable) service.

Anticipated hiring salary range: $5,507–$8,000 per full‑time month. Classified ranges:
Lecturer A – $5,507–$6,677;
Lecturer B – $6,221–$13,224 per full‑time month. The hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
