The Department of Public Health at California State University San Marcos seeks a part‑time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach PH 303 — Social, Behavioral, and Community Health. This 3‑unit course introduces current health issues from a social science and behavioral perspective, exploring health determinants, ecological approaches, multilevel influences, risk factors, and prevention/promotion strategies. PH 303 provides foundational understanding of public health concepts, tools, and approaches and offers a critical examination of health and disease within populations.

• A Master of Public Health (MPH) or Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) is required.
• Experience working with college‑level students or teaching in higher education.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work cooperatively with core faculty and colleagues.
• Compliance with the California State University’s Out‑of‑State Employment Policy: employment must be within California.

• A doctoral degree in Public Health or a closely related field (PhD, MD, DrPH, ScD, JD, etc.).
• Intercultural competence and commitment to serving the campus community.

Salary commensurate with degree level and experience.

• Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 – $6,000 per full‑time month.
• CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer A – AY: $5,507 – $6,677 per full‑time month.
• CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer B – AY: $6,221 – $13,224 per full‑time month.
