Infancy and Childhood (Fall 2026)

  • Day/Time: Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
  • College: College of Humanities, Arts, Behavioral and Social Sciences

Course focuses on theories, methods, and research in developmental psychology from conception through childhood. Includes biological, genetic, and physical development; social‑emotional development, cognitive and language development; perception and brain development. Analysis and synthesis of scholarly articles are integral parts of this course.

Qualifications

Required

  • Master's degree in psychology or a relevant field.
  • Successful experience teaching at the college level.
  • Must work in California under the CSU out‑of‑state employment policy.

Preferred

  • Doctorate in psychology or a relevant field.
  • Higher education experience teaching a similar class.
  • Research experience relevant to the course content.
  • Intercultural competence and commitment to serving the campus community.
Salary
  • Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 – $8,000 per full‑time month
  • CSU Classification – Lecturer A (AY): $5,507 – $6,677 per full‑time month
  • CSU Classification – Lecturer B (AY): $6,221 – $13,224 per full‑time month
