SUMMARY: A loan officer identifies, acquires, and grows new & existing profitable business relationships with businesses & consumers that create value for the customer & yield loan commitments & deposit balances for Schertz Bank & Trust.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Develops potential clientele of average to significant complexity and dollar size in keeping with authorized levels of authority
- Manages existing portfolios, monitoring the financial condition of accounts in relation to acceptable risk
- Attends to the needs of customers seeking loans or lines of credit on terms that involve significant amounts of unsecured funds and/or credit secured by assets
- Interviews loan applicants to develop information concerning their business, needs, desires, & abilities & earnings
- Monitors current loans & credit lines to ensure complete conformity with terms & cognizance of developing trends
- Identifies weaknesses in credit performance and recommends appropriate corrective action
- Provides financial advice & counsel to customers & prospective customers
- Manages all phases of the loan life cycle including, but not limited to relevant systems, loan policies & structure, product knowledge, financial analysis, appraisal review and environmental assessments
- Solicits deposit relationships based on established product offerings
- Utilizes decision making & credit analysis skills to make appropriate credit & structuring decisions
- Completes all required paperwork & forms in a timely & accurate manner
- Prepares all required reports
- Makes presentations to Loan & Discount Committee on loans above lending limit
- Performs other duties as assigned by the President
Supervises the loan secretary assigned
QUALIFICATIONSExperience: minimum 3 years related experience

- Full time position with usual working schedule Monday thru Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Some overtime may be required
- Must be available & willing to work at another branch if needed with frequent travel to the Main Branch for regularly scheduled meetings

- Must be able to function in an environment with a moderate noise level
