Summary:
At Aptiv Interconnect, we inspire the world's most innovative teams by doing the right thing, the right way. We are seeking a strategic, high-caliber Materials Manager to oversee the strategic alignment, flow, and optimization of materials from key supply partners into the operational pipeline.
In this role, you will focus on cultivating deep, collaborative partnerships with the site's procurement team to synchronize demand forecasting, proactively manage lead times, and guarantee optimal inventory availability. Serving as the vital link between external supply networks and internal operations, you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of goods-directing strategic planning, shipment, receipt, secure storage, inventory control, and efficient internal distribution across the organization.
Leadership & Core Responsibilities
Strategic Supply & Materials Alignment
- Supply Synchronization: Cultivate deep, collaborative partnerships with site procurement teams to align demand forecasting, mitigate lead times, and ensure continuous inventory availability.
- Lifecycle Management: Own the end-to-end lifecycle of incoming and outgoing materials, parts, and products.
- SIOP/SOE Integration: Apply Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) and Strategy/Operations Execution (SOE) methodologies to align operational pipeline strategies with corporate turn objectives.
- Logistics Oversight: Direct all shipping, receiving, and storage activities to guarantee order accuracy and optimize component and finished goods storage.
- Inventory Accuracy & Audits: Maintain system inventory accuracy, execute obsolete inventory disposal, and partner with Finance to coordinate physical audits and inventories.
- BOM Collaboration: Serve as the primary departmental liaison with engineering teams on product configurations and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Team Development: Supervise, train, and develop a dedicated team of planners, warehouse, and shipping personnel to drive high performance and career growth.
- Performance Metrics: Establish, track, and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to enhance operational efficiency and maximize inventory turns.
- Process Optimization: Review current operational practices to develop, select, and allocate resources effectively while driving continuous improvement.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in materials control.
- Leadership Experience: 3 to 5+ years supervising, managing, training, and developing teams (specifically warehouse, shipping, and planning personnel).
- Industry Domain: Substantial practical application of SIOP and SOE methodologies, experience reading/managing BOMs, and working directly with engineering on product configurations.
- Regulatory Compliance: N/A
- Certifications: APICS/CPIM or related certifications preferred.
- Systems Proficiency: Material Requirements Planning systems (MRP/ERP - Epicor), Google Enterprise, and ADP.
- Core Competencies: Strong grounding in core values-Accountability, Collaboration, and Empowerment (ACE); fluency in Spanish is a plus.
Total Rewards & Compensation
- Base Salary Range: Up to $160,000 per year (DOE), contingent upon experience, education, skills, and relevant hiring factors.
- Incentive Compensation: AIP target 10%.
