SALARY RANGE
$69,222.40 – $92,768.00 annual

DEFINITIONUnder general supervision, performs routine maintenance, repair, landscaping, and upkeep of assigned buildings and facilities; assesses the need for contractors and monitors contractor performance; maintains warehouse and inventory; performs related work as assigned.
CLASS CHARACTERISTICSThis position is responsible for monitoring and maintaining buildings, facilities and easements for safe and effective working conditions, which may include performing maintenance and assessing the need for a contractor; performs a wide variety of tasks in the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of District property; works in the warehouse, receives deliveries, enters purchase requests, and manages inventory.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVEDThe Maintenance Services Worker is directly supervised by the Maintenance Services Supervisor and does not supervise any staff. It is not a designated lead position and does not assume supervision of the department in the absence of the supervisor but will assist the Mechanical & Maintenance Manager.
Essential Functions- Performs routine maintenance, repair, landscaping, and upkeep of District property, which may include, but is not limited to, carpentry, plumbing, weed abatement, pest control, painting, and other handyperson duties; communicates status of maintenance and assigned projects to appropriate personnel; responds to employee requests for other laborer duties, such as moving furniture, loading/unloading, office upgrades, etc.;
- Inspects District property for maintenance concerns; schedules and coordinates work with vendors and affected staff; assesses maintenance issues for complexity and priority; makes recommendations regarding the use of contractors; monitors contractor’s work product to project scope and safety standards in conjunction with Maintenance Services Supervisor; addresses District concerns directly with contractor and department supervisor;
- Performs grading, brush removal and debris hauling; ensures safe operation and proper maintenance of equipment; coordinates with contractors and staff regarding access and maintenance of easements; and assists with erosion control and right of way restoration operates heavy and light equipment, such as utility terrain vehicle, , backhoe, skip loader, skid steer;
- Contacts vendors, obtains and reviews quotes for a variety of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies; prepares purchase requests; receives, inspects, stores, and issues items; assigns stock numbers and barcodes; maintains inventory in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS);
- Coordinates automated fuel system with internal record keeping system; identifies fueling errors, and alerts appropriate personnel for accurate mileage reports for all vehicle maintenance; works with and hazardous chemicals, such as cleaning fluid, pesticide, or fuel, which may require training and certification;
- Operates a forklift and automotive vehicles for the pick‑up, delivery, and unloading of supplies and materials; drives to different District property locations for maintenance or product delivery; uses hand and power tools, hardware, and other maintenance equipment related to assigned tasks;
- Maintains accurate records related to all duties; uses computer regularly for record‑keeping; assists with quarterly and annual inventory audits;
