About This Role
The Senior Environmental Health & Safety Specialist protects employees, customers, visitors, property, and assets from injury or loss. Ensures compliance with pertinent regulations and the Global EHS Policy.
Essential Functions- Leads and supports compliance efforts related to Local, State, and Federal Environmental, Health & Safety regulations and standards. Acts as a liaison with regulatory agencies, submits required regulatory reports in a timely manner, and ensures ongoing compliance with permits and applicable regulations.
- Conducts site and machine risk assessments, job hazard analyses, industrial hygiene surveys, and compliance audits to identify hazards, evaluate risk exposure, and recommend corrective actions for manufacturing equipment, processes, and operational activities.
- Facilitates safety representative meetings across all shifts to communicate Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives, review trends, discuss concerns, and promote employee engagement in safety programs.
- Develops, implements, updates, and maintains site‑specific Environmental, Health & Safety programs, policies, procedures, and training materials to support regulatory compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assists with Workers’ Compensation claims administration and provides all necessary documentation for investigations and claim management. Coordinates communication between the third‑party administrator, medical providers, supervisors, and employees regarding return‑to‑work plans and work restrictions.
- Responds to emergencies, injuries, workplace violence incidents, spills, etc. Performs post‑incident and hazard investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce future risk.
- Ensures the safe handling, storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous chemicals and waste materials. Defines HAZWOPER activities, coordinates required training, maintains chemical inventories and Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and ensures appropriate supplies and equipment are available.
- Reviews Lockout/Tagout procedures annually and conducts periodic audits to verify procedures are accurate, effective, and consistently followed throughout operations.
- Conducts routine safety inspections of manufacturing, warehouse, tooling, maintenance, and office areas to identify unsafe conditions, ensure compliance, and track corrective actions to completion.

- Maintain OSHA logs, inspection records, training records, and other Environmental, Health & Safety documentation required for regulatory compliance and internal reporting through our EHS Data Management System.
- Tracks, manages, and maintains site‑specific Environmental, Health & Safety projects and action items through our project management system to ensure timely completion.
- Partners with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, and Facilities teams to support safe equipment installations, process changes, and continuous improvement projects.
- Assists with contractor safety activities including onboarding requirements, documentation review, and monitoring compliance with site safety expectations.
- Supports environmental compliance activities including stormwater inspections, hazardous waste management, and environmental reporting requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred.
- HAZMAT AND HAZWOPER certifications preferred.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First‑Aid certifications. Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification preferred.
- Minimum five years of experience working in the Environmental Health and Safety field, preferably in Manufacturing.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and related state and federal laws, as well as experience in interacting with regulatory agencies required.
