Facilities Control Specialist, Energy Management and Utility Services

Job Overview

Under general supervision, the position has varying responsibility for the programming, installation, maintenance, adjustment, integration and repair of electric, electronic, pneumatic and digitally controlled building automation systems which manage the most complex HVAC, refrigeration, and lighting systems. Incumbents monitor, troubleshoot, design, modify, calibrate and program system features; and respond to technical and mechanical problems, either remotely or onsite. Incumbents must be thoroughly conversant in the software operation of the applicable building automation system (Apogee and Niagara) and have journey-level skills and experience to allow them to diagnose, repair and maintain complex HVAC systems and their components.

This position will also be required to have responsibility for the independent and ongoing operation, maintenance, and repairs of a wide range of complex refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, ventilating, lighting, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, water systems, and related building automation systems. Must be thoroughly familiar with all safety codes and regulations related to the installation and operation of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

The position also maintains services, inspects, and repairs the mechanical, electrical, electronic, and digital controls associated with these systems. May perform duties under an alternate work schedule.

This is a full-time , non-exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $6,705 - $7,403 per month (step 1 - step
6)

CSU Classification Salary Range: $6,705 - $9,768 per month

Salary is commensurate with the background and experience of the individual selected.
