PRIMARY
PURPOSE:
Maintain accurate attendance records on all students as required by law and perform attendance reporting.
Qualifications- Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED
- Special Knowledge/
Skills:- Clerical/secretarial skills
- Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing
- Experience: Two years clerical or secretarial experience preferred
- Assist with monitoring all student attendance records in auditable condition and prepare related reports.
- Assist with ensuring that appropriate information needed for documentation of student attendance is submitted by each teacher.
- Operate a computer terminal for entering and maintaining all attendance information for computer attendance accounting.
- Assist with reporting the names of students who are truant or have excessive absences to the school district’s attendance officer and prepare all documents necessary for court cases.
- Assist with preparing daily attendance-based lists (unexcused, tardy, SAC, etc.) and provide attendance information to teachers and administrators.
- Assist with monitoring required student classification lists (Special education, food service, field trip, etc.)
- Assist with preparing, printing and sending attendance related letters to parents.
- Regular attendance; must be willing and able to report to work at designated site on a regular daily basis according to established work schedule.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Use personal computer, printer, copier, fax machine, and other general office equipment.
Working ConditionsMental Demands:
Reading, ability to perform basic arithmetic, ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written), maintains emotional control under stress.
Physical Demands / Environmental Factors:
Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer; works with frequent interruptions; occasional in-district travel in personal vehicle.
