Position Description

The Department of Engineering Technology at Texas State University is seeking applicants to fill two (2) tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor in our growing Construction Science and Management and Concrete Industry Management programs, beginning in Fall 2026. The undergraduate programs are accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE) and the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE) respectively and currently serve almost 1,000 students.

The department also operates MS and PhD programs in construction management with in‑person and online options. The selected candidate will be expected to excel in teaching, conduct research, secure external funding, establish an independent research program, publish, engage undergraduate and graduate students in research activities, supervise graduate students, and participate in service activities at program, department, university, and professional levels.

Required Qualifications
  • Earned doctoral degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Undergraduate degree in Construction Management from an ACCE or ABET accredited institution, or in Construction Engineering or Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution, or a closely related field from a similarly accredited institution.
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Publication record in academic journals and proceedings.
  • Potential for a viable externally funded research program.
  • Three or more years of full‑time work experience in a construction management or construction engineering discipline.
Research Expertise
  • Artificial intelligence in construction management, concrete materials science, or concrete production
  • Virtual design and construction, extended reality, digital twins, digital construction
  • Predictive analytics for schedule, cost, or risk in construction
  • 3D printed concrete structures
