Overview

Metromont LLC is seeking a Project Manager in San Marcos, TX. The role coordinates engineering, drafting, production and subcontractor activities to satisfy Metromont’s contractual scope and manages project budgets and customer relationships during construction and closeout.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate engineering, drafting, production, and subcontract activities to achieve company objectives in key result areas:
    • Serve as the team leader to deliver a quality project from design, product, and customer experience perspectives.
    • Manage accounts receivable to minimize days sales outstanding with and without retainage.
    • Ensure adherence to Metromont field safety programs and site safety requirements.
    • Retain ownership for each project from start through acceptance and final payment.
  • Direct responsibilities include:
    • Organize turnover meetings for each project.
    • Develop and maintain internal project schedules and coordinate activities to meet overall project timelines.
    • Review submittal drawings for constructability and compliance with Metromont standards.
    • Review contracts and advise Contracts Administrator on terms, conditions and scope of work.
    • Coordinate stability plan submittals with the erector and schedule stability review meetings.
    • Set up and conduct internal pre-erection meetings at least two weeks before erection.
    • Prepare required project submittals (mix designs, FAA determinations, brick, samples, caulk, etc.).
    • Manage project scope vs. contract requirements and the project estimate.
    • Coordinate and manage change orders on assigned projects.
    • Facilitate problem resolution related to the project.
    • Coordinate information and correspondence among design, schedule, scope, production, erection, and field teams.
    • Ensure consistent understanding of project expectations across the team.
    • Maintain project documentation per Metromont standards.
    • Attend site meetings as required by contract or customer; attend design coordination meetings as required by contractor or customer.
    • Develop, with Accounts Receivable Technician, the project’s schedule of values.
    • Manage billing and outstanding accounts receivable for projects.
    • Coordinate close-out documentation and final retainage billing.
    • Ensure timely selection of subcontractors and adherence to safety programs and contract requirements.
    • Provide feedback on product quality, field services, and customer experience.
    • Conduct weekly site visits where applicable and document progress with photos.
    • Provide weekly updates on erection tracking to the project team.
    • Monitor project budgets and communicate manufacturing budget changes to the appropriate department.
    • Provide supervision and oversight to Metromont’s Field Superintendent.
    • Manage the sample approval process.
    • Own and monitor punch list completion.
SCOPE OF AUTHORITY
  • Works with minimal direct supervision
  • In collaboration with the Field Superintendent, Haul Manager, Erector, General Contractor, and other members of the project team, implements decisions related to the performance of Metromont’s scope of work for the project
  • Reports to the Director of Project Management

EDUCATION AND TECHNOLOGY
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the construction industry with specific contracting/general contracting experience
