- More than three years of prior experience in professional college admissions
- Experience with event coordination
- Experience working remotely
- Bilingual Spanish
The purpose of this position is to recruit prospective students and to promote Texas State in the Houston area. The Houston Regional Manager participates in all aspects of recruitment, both in Houston and on campus.
The Regional Manager supervises the team of Admissions Counselors who serve the Houston Area. Duties for this position include the hiring and training of staff, as well as regular individual and team meetings. The Regional Manager is expected to oversee the recruitment activities of the Houston team and to provide continuous mentoring and support for their staff.
Expected activities include but are not limited to visits to high schools and community colleges, presentations, admissions events, and communication with students, parents, and counselors.
The Houston Regional Manager position requires at least three years of professional college admissions experience, excellent oral and written communication skills as well as exceptional interpersonal skills.
The Houston Regional Manager must reside in the Houston area.
Job DutiesThe characteristics and responsibilities of the ideal Houston Regional Counselor include but are not limited to:

- Communicating and establishing relationships with prospective students, parents, and counselors via available media
- Preparing recruitment reports
- Reviewing admission applications and recommending decisions
- Other duties as assigned
Candidate must live in the Houston area.
