The School of Music at Texas State University seeks an engaging, creative, collaborative, and student-centered teacher to serve as a non-tenure-line Assistant Professor of Instruction of Music Education (Student Success).
The successful candidate will be expected to:
* Teach undergraduate music education courses in area of specialization.
* Supervise student teachers.
* Lead student success initiatives, including serving as a resource for students, planning Musicians Forum/Somos Músicos recitals, and arranging guest speakers (health, wellness, etc.), among other activities.
* Serve as Associate Director for Student Success.
* Provide service to the School of Music, including recruitment.
* Other duties assigned by the Director of the School of Music.
Required Qualifications
* Master's degree in music education or related field.
* A minimum of three years of successful EC-12 teaching experience.
* Demonstrated experience in assessment of student learning outcomes.
* Experience working with individuals from various backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience teaching university courses in area of specialization.
* Proven record of mentorship and supervision of university music education students.
* Background in curriculum development and innovation.
* Demonstrated communication and organizational skills, and an ability to work collaboratively.
