Position

Description:

The School of Music at Texas State University seeks an engaging, creative, collaborative, and dedicated teacher/scholar to serve as a non-tenure-line Assistant Professor of Instruction of Voice. The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate applied voice lessons.
  • Prepare student degree recitals.
  • Professional activity in the fields of vocal performance and/or vocal pedagogy is expected.
  • Provide service to the School of Music, including recruitment.
  • Other duties assigned by the Director of the School of Music.
Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in vocal performance or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Documented ability and success in training voices of all types and developmental levels at the collegiate level.
  • A record of achievement in vocal performance and/or vocal pedagogy publication.
  • Experience working with individuals from various backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • All voice types considered.
  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Demonstrated communication and organizational skills, and an ability to work collaboratively.
