PositionDescription:
The School of Music at Texas State University seeks an engaging, creative, collaborative, and dedicated teacher/scholar to serve as a non-tenure-line Assistant Professor of Instruction of Voice. The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Teach undergraduate and graduate applied voice lessons.
- Prepare student degree recitals.
- Professional activity in the fields of vocal performance and/or vocal pedagogy is expected.
- Provide service to the School of Music, including recruitment.
- Other duties assigned by the Director of the School of Music.
- Master’s degree in vocal performance or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Documented ability and success in training voices of all types and developmental levels at the collegiate level.
- A record of achievement in vocal performance and/or vocal pedagogy publication.
- Experience working with individuals from various backgrounds.
- All voice types considered.
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
- Demonstrated communication and organizational skills, and an ability to work collaboratively.
