Head Coach – Women’s Gymnastics

Texas State University is seeking a Head Coach for its newly launched NCAA Division 1 Women’s Gymnastics program. The Head Coach will manage all aspects of the program, including budgeting, recruiting, team travel, equipment, and community service. The role requires a strong commitment to motivating, teaching, counseling, and recruiting academically and athletically qualified student‑athletes, and ensuring compliance with NCAA and Texas State University policies.

Requirements
  • Strong commitment to motivating, teaching, counseling, and recruiting student‑athletes.
  • Knowledge of D1 gymnastics principles, practices, and safety standards.
  • Proven ability to mentor, inspire, and develop student athletes and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with a diverse population.
  • Knowledge of conference, NCAA D1 rules, academic standards, and university policies.
  • Ability to collaborate with administration to provide program support and advocate for resources.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent team leadership and management skills, including motivating, building consensus, evaluating performance, and facilitating training and professional development.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage the gymnastics program budget, recruiting, team travel, equipment, and community service.
  • Run a compliance‑ready program in accordance with NCAA, Pac‑12 Conference, and university rules.
  • Position the program to compete for championships and establish a culture of excellence.
  • Preserve and protect the safety, health, and well‑being of student‑athletes; support their academic success and personal development.
  • Build and maintain relationships with boosters, alumni, parents, and community stakeholders.
  • Rally support from the university and surrounding communities; develop relationships and collaborate with campus and community partners.
  • Fulfill media responsibilities including interviews, coach’s show commitments, and attendance at departmental, head coach, and conference meetings.
