PRIMARY
PURPOSE:
Assist the principal in the overall administration of the instructional program and operations at the campus level. Coordinate assigned activities and services.

Education/Certification:
Texas Mid-management or other appropriate Texas certification

Minimum Experience: Three years experience as a classroom teacher.
Major Responsibilities and Duties- Assist in the administration of the daily organization of the school scheduling, teacher assignments, and extracurricular activities.
- Participate in the development and evaluation of educational programs.
- Encourage and support the development of innovative instructional programs, helping teachers to pilot such efforts when appropriate.
- Provide appropriate time, resources, and materials to support staff in accomplishing educational goals.
- Facilitate the use of technology in the teaching/learning process.
- Serve as principal in the absence of the regular principal.
- Regular attendance; must be willing and able to report to work at designated site on a regular daily basis according to established work schedule.
- Promote a positive, caring climate for learning.
- Deal sensitively and fairly with persons from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Employ effective interpersonal skills.
- Participate in collaborative processes to develop campus improvement plans with parents, staff and community members.
- Assist principal in developing, maintaining and using appropriate systems and records indicators.

- Assist principal in interviewing, selecting and orienting new staff.
- Share supervision and evaluation responsibility for professional staff with school principal.
- Supervise and evaluate custodians, paraprofessionals, clerical staff, and others when assigned by the principal.
- Supervise the reporting and monitoring of student attendance and work with the attendance supervisor on investigative follow-up reports.
- Assist in working with the department heads and faculty in compiling annual budget requests based upon documented program needs.
- Assist in the requisition and coordination of textbooks; conduct inventories; maintain records; and verify receipt of textbooks and related materials.
- Coordinate custodial services and management of the physical plant; requisition of supplies; conduct inventories; maintain records; and verify receipts for such material.
- Cooperate in the conducting of safety inspections and safety drill practice activities.
- Coordinate transportation, cafeteria, and other support services.
- Implement policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and the local board.
- Coordinate and provide adequate supervision of students during non‑instructional periods.
- Provide input to develop a student management system that results in positive student behavior.
- Ensure that school rules are uniformly observed and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable.
- Conduct conferences with parents, students, and teachers concerning school and student issues.
- Present for students a positive role model that supports the mission of the school district.
- Take the initiative to develop needed professional skills appropriate to job assignment.
