Position Title

Nontenure Faculty Pool – Legal Studies

Position Description

The Department of Political Science seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary/nontenured faculty to teach in Legal Studies. Temporary faculty appointments are based upon student demand on a semester‑by‑semester basis. Successful candidates may teach at the San Marcos campus and/or online, depending on departmental needs. Positions are for the fall
2025, spring
2026, and summer
2025/2026 semesters.

Responsibilities
  • Teach one to four courses per semester, as assigned by the department.
  • Deliver course content in campus or online formats.
  • Participate in annual performance evaluations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA‑accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Texas in good standing.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet teaching and curricular expectations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous teaching experience.
