Open Rank Tenure Track Faculty – Program Director
Position at the College of Health Professions in Health Sciences for a nine‑month, open‑rank, tenure‑track Faculty DSc Program Director. The role begins immediately and is located at the San Marcos campus.
Responsibilities- Maintain and develop a nationally recognized line of research in the candidate’s specialty, including securing extramural funding to support research.
- Teach undergraduate or graduate courses as needed.
- Provide service to the department, college, and university.
- Supervise doctoral research and provide mentorship to graduate students.
- Demonstrate commitment to teaching excellence, curriculum development, and scholarship.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- Terminal degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Health Science or a closely related field.
- Experience with doctoral research supervision.
- Strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills.
- Proven teaching commitment and a record of scholarly products (peer‑reviewed publications, presentations, etc.).
- Potential or history of extramural funding.
- Commitment to professional growth and lifelong learning.
- Working knowledge of MS Office.
- Minimum six years of college‑level teaching experience as a full‑time faculty member.
- Demonstrated teaching and learning contributions, including advances in curriculum, pedagogy, and course delivery.
- Strong record of peer‑reviewed publications as first author or lead investigator.
- Strong record of extramural funding (as PI or co‑PI).
- Minimum ten years of college‑level teaching experience as a full‑time faculty member.
- Leadership on academic committees and/or professional organizations.
- National reputation among peers and demonstrated leadership through service to the university, community, and professional organizations.
- Ongoing formal training to maintain and upgrade professional, instructional, and administrative capabilities.
- Student‑success initiatives.
- Leadership and experience building alliances across the college, university, academic, and business communities.
- Familiarity with alternative teaching styles, including simulation, virtual reality, and online learning best practices.
- Experience in accreditation processes.
