The Department of Engineering Technology at Texas State University invites applications for a Faculty of Instruction vacancy at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in Environmental Engineering Technology. The successful candidate will support the department’s mission of delivering industry‑aligned curriculum through teaching, advising, mentorship, industry engagement, and service activities.
Responsibilities- Teach four courses each semester, as required by expertise and department priorities.
- Advise students on curriculum and career choices.
- Engage with student organizations and mentor competition teams.
- Participate in industry associations and professional societies.
- Engage in service activities that support the university, the department, and the profession.
- Execute additional teaching, research, and service duties appropriate to rank.
- Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a closely related field with an emphasis in Environmental Engineering.
- Undergraduate degree in Civil or Construction Engineering from an ABET accredited institution or equivalent accreditation.
- Minimum of two years undergraduate teaching experience.
- Current and contemporary competency in the teaching content area.
- Excellent oral and written English language skills.
- At least five years of full‑time effective and sustained teaching, including curriculum, pedagogy, course delivery, or innovation.
- Demonstrated record of excellent teaching.
- At least ten years of full‑time effective and sustained teaching, including curriculum, pedagogy, course delivery, or innovation.
- Recognition of leadership and contributions in teaching (e.g., awards, accreditation reviews, curriculum innovation, program coordination, scholarly contributions).
- Professional licensure relevant to the discipline.
- U.S.‑based industry experience in environmental and/or civil design and construction.
