Position Description
The Department of Biology seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary/nontenured faculty to teach. Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based upon student demand on a semester‑by‑semester basis. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental/school need.
Successful candidates may teach at the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses and/or online, depending on the needs of the academic department. This posting is for the Fall
2025, Spring
2026, and Summer
2026 semesters. Positions are subject to availability of funds.
Teach one to four courses per semester in the Department of Biology, with teaching appointments determined by semester‑by‑semester student demand.
Qualifications- Earned doctorate in Biology or a closely related life science field.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Previous experience teaching undergraduate courses as the instructor of record.
