Position DescriptionThe Department of Political Science seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary/nontenured faculty positions. Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester, with teaching appointments based upon student demand on a semester‑by‑semester basis. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, as well as continuity of funding and departmental need.
Successful candidates may teach at the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses and/or online, depending on the needs of the academic department.
Please note that this posting is not intended to convey that any current need exists. Applicants applying for a pool faculty position will be available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case the need arises.
Required Qualifications- Specific educational requirements vary by position, but a minimum of a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching field is generally required.
- Previous teaching experience is preferred.
