Nontenure Faculty Pool – Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry

OverviewTemporary and nontenured faculty will be appointed to teach one to four undergraduate courses per semester at the San Marcos campus of Texas State University. Teaching appointments are made on a semester‑by‑semester basis, based upon student demand. Eligibility for annual re‑appointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations, continuity of funding, and departmental/school needs. The position is open for consideration for the Fall 2025, Spring 2026, and Summer 2026 semesters, subject to future need.
Responsibilities- Teach one to four undergraduate courses per semester.
- Prepare and deliver course material based on student demand.
- Complete annual performance evaluations during the term period.
- Collaborate with the department to meet curriculum and instructional standards.
- Minimum of a master’s degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
- Strong academic background in general chemistry, biochemistry, or organic chemistry.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biochemistry or a closely related field.
- Previous experience teaching undergraduate courses as the instructor of record.
- Previous experience coordinating and developing curriculum for undergraduate laboratories.
