The School of Health Administration seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary/nontenured faculty appointments to teach in undergraduate and graduate programs. Teaching appointments are typically 1–2 courses per semester and are determined by student demand on a semester-by-semester basis. Eligibility for annual reappointment depends on satisfactory annual performance evaluations, ongoing funding, and department/school/program needs.
Possible teaching locations include the San Marcos campus, Round Rock campus, and online courses, as dictated by department needs.
Posting is for Summer 2026, Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters. This posting does not guarantee a current need; applicants may be considered if and when vacancies arise.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses as assigned (typically 1–2 courses per semester).
- Engage in student-focused instruction and participate in program activities as requested by the department/school.
- Maintain ongoing communication with the department regarding availability and teaching needs.
- Minimum of a Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching field; specific requirements vary by position.
- PhD, DHA, OBA, DrPH, MHA, MBA, MPH, or related degrees; healthcare management or long-term care administration experience may substitute for prior graduate teaching requirements.
- Professional certifications such as FACHE, CHFP, FHFMA, CMPE, FACMPE, FACHCA, or other relevant credentials depending on the course assignment.
- Master’s or doctoral degree from an AACSB, CePH, or CAHME accredited program preferred.
