Position Description
- The School of Health Administration seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary/nontenured faculty to teach in undergraduate and graduate programs. Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to two courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based on student demand on a semester-by-semester basis. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental/school/program need.
Successful candidates may teach at the San Marcos, Round Rock campuses, and/or online, depending on the needs of the academic department. This posting is for Summer 2026, Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters. Please note that this posting is not intended to convey that such a need currently exists. Applicants applying for a pool faculty position will be available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case the need arises.
Required Qualifications
- Specific educational requirements vary by position, but a minimum of a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching field is generally required. PhD, DHA, OBA, DrPH, MHA, MBA, MPH, and other degrees considered. Healthcare management or long-term care administration experience may substitute for this prior graduate teaching requirement.
Preferred Qualifications - FACHE, CHFP, FHFMA, CMPE, FACMPE, FACHCA or other relevant certification based on professional curriculum teaching assignment. A master's degree, doctorate/PhD from an AACSB, CePH or CAHME accredited program is also preferred.
