Required Qualifications:

Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.

- Associate's Degree with a minimum of two years of experience in an office environment at an institution of higher education.

Demonstrated ability to interpret, apply, and explain policies, procedures, and regulations.

Experience maintaining confidential and sensitive student records in compliance withFERPAand other applicable regulations.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.

Experience utilizing databases and student information systems to research, update, and maintain records.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.

Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of experience processing VA educational benefits (Chapters 30, 31, 33, 35, 1606, etc.).Experience serving as a School Certifying Official (SCO) with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Working knowledge of VA-ONCE, Enrollment Manager, or other VA certification systems.

Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing veterans' educational benefits.

Basic understanding ofTXSTadministrative software includingBDMS,LOGI, Banner, Degree Works, and variousNETapplications.

Experience working in a Registrar's Office at a 4-year, state-funded institution.

Experience evaluating degree requirements and academic records for benefit eligibility.

Willingness to occasionally work outside normal business hours.

Experience working with military-affiliated students, veterans, and dependents.

Job Description
- Determine which courses are certifiable using degree plans, transcripts, etc. Certify tuition adjustments and coursework for payment. Audit VA student files, certifications, and corrections for accuracy and documentation. Advise/counsel veterans on application process for VA educational benefits. Assist with determining eligibility and processing Hazlewood and Department of Veteran's Affairs benefits.

Job Duties
- Review and code information sheets. Determine which courses are certified using degree outlines, deficiency plans, transcripts, etc. Certify coursework for payment. Report on changes in coursework/payment. Notify students of problems in a timely manner so that administrative changes can be made before deadlines. Audit VA student files, certifications, and corrections for accuracy/documentation. Calculate prior credit for transfer course work to accurately reflect students' academic progress.

Oversee and assist the filing and tracking system VA student files. Advise/counsel veterans on application process for VA Educational Benefits. Assist with determining eligibility and processing Hazlewood and Chapter 31 benefits. Assist customers on phone and in person in a courteous and helpful manner. OrganizeNSOsessions and present to prospective VA students and families at New Student Orientations. Assist in achieving departmental goals.

Establish and maintain federal and state training requirements as a school certifying official.
