Senior Regional Admissions Counselor – Houston

Office of Undergraduate Admissions – Houston. Full‑Time, Permanent – Senior Undergraduate Admissions Counselor. The purpose of this position is to recruit prospective students and promote Texas State in the greater Houston area. This position participates in all aspects of recruitment, both in Houston and on campus. The candidate must reside within the greater Houston area.

  • Conducting large and small group presentations
  • Collaborating with the admissions team
  • Planning recruitment events
  • Communicating and establishing relationships with prospective students, parents, and counselors via available media
  • Preparing recruitment reports
  • Reviewing admission applications and recommending decisions
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Must reside in the greater Houston area
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and travel overnight
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the Houston area and its dynamics
  • Professional experience in college admissions
  • Effective and accurate written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
  • Texas State employee or alum
  • Bilingual Spanish
  • Three years or more of prior experience in professional college admissions
  • Experience with event coordination
  • Experience working remotely
Additional Requirements

Selected candidate must reside in the greater Houston area. Applicant must have a valid Texas Driver's License and be a driver in good standing with less than ten points deducted for driving infractions as determined by the employer driving standards system.
