Overview
Nontenure Faculty Pool – Psychology:
The College of Liberal Arts seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary/nontenured faculty to teach in Psychology. For information about our department, visit the Department of Psychology website. Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based upon student demand on a semester-by-semester basis. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental need.
Successful candidates may teach at the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses and/or online, depending on the needs of the academic department. This posting covers fall 2026, spring 2027, and/or summer 2026/2027 semesters. Applicants will be considered by the departmental search committee if the need arises.
- Teach one to four courses per semester as assigned.
- Prepare course materials, deliver lectures, assess student work, and maintain effective student engagement.
- Participate in department and program activities as needed.
- Minimum of a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching field (varies by position).
- Previous teaching experience is preferred.
