Position

Description:

The Department of Finance and Economics seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary/nontenured faculty to teach in Finance, Economics, and/or Business Law. Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based upon student demand on a semester-by-semester basis. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental/school/program need.

Successful candidates may teach at TXST’s campus in San Marcos, TX; TXST’s campus in Round Rock, TX;
Dallas College in Dallas, TX;
Lone Star College in The Woodlands, TX;
San Jacinto College in Houston, TX; or online, depending on the needs of the academic department. This posting is for the fall 2025, spring 2026 and summer 2025/2026 semesters. Applicants applying for a pool faculty position will be available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case the need arises. Positions are subject to availability of funds.

Required Qualifications:

  • Specific educational requirements vary by position, but a minimum of a Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching field is generally required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous college teaching experience with strong evidence of teaching effectiveness is preferred.
