The St. David'sSchool of Nursing seeks to develop a pool ofcandidates for possible temporary/nontenured faculty to teach in undergraduate program.
Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based upon studentdemand on a semester-by-semester basis. Eligibility for annualreappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity offunding and departmental/school/program needs.
This posting is for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027semesters. Please note that this posting is not intended to conveythat such a need currently exists. Applicants applying for a poolfaculty position will be available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case the need arises.
Required Qualifications- Hold a current license or privilege to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas;
- Show evidence of teaching abilities and maintaining current knowledge, clinical expertise, and safety in the subject areas oft eaching responsibility.
- Hold a master's degree or doctoral degree, preferably innursing.
- A nurse faculty member holding a master's degree or doctoral degree in a discipline other than nursing shall hold a bachelor'sdegree in nursing from an approved or accredited baccalaureateprogram in nursing; and at least twelve (12) graduate semester hours in nursing appropriate to assigned teaching responsibilities.
- Preferred qualifications would include holding a terminaldegree, certification in an area of practice specialty, and expertise in a focused area of nursing practice (such as OB,pediatrics, adult acute care, emergency department, etc.).
