Job DescriptionJOB TITLE: Clerk, ARD WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Nonexempt
REPORTS TO: Principal, assessment staff,
and teacher(s) assigned
DEPT. /SCHOOL Special Education
PRIMARY
PURPOSE:
Assist the special education campus staff in preparation for ARD meetings. Assist in covering classes in order for staff to attend ARD meetings. Assist in the implementation of classroom programs and instruction. Work under the general supervision of the principal and the immediate direction of campus evaluation staff
QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Clerical skills
- Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases, and word processing
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with parents
- Ability to work well with children with disabilities
- Knowledge of office equipment and computers
Clerical experience and experience working with children
MAJORRESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- 1. Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and state and local board policy.
- 2. Consult daily with campus Special Education staff concerning needs.
- 3. Check lists and schedule ARD meetings; complete ARD notices and send/mailto all invited.
- 4. Prepare ARD documents and other special education forms; keep available supply of forms needed.
- 5. Copy, file, and maintain student folders; deliver originals to Special Education Office for processing; distribute copies to teachers/staff.
- 6. Work with individual students or small groups as assigned by the teacher/supervisor.
- 7. Assist in supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom.
- 9. Maintain confidentiality of all records and information.
- 10. Maintain a positive and effective relationship with supervisors.
- 11. Regular attendance; must be willing and able to report to work at the designated work site on a regular basis according to established work schedule.
- 12. Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings and special events as needed.
- 13. Comply with all district and local campus routines, policy, and regulations.
- 14. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervising teachers or principal.

Reading; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress; ability to manage multiple priorities while working at multiple assigned sites
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:Regular district-wide travel in personal vehicle; may work multiple sites as assigned; works with frequent interruptions; repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer; ability to answer incoming calls; frequent standing; stooping; bending; kneeling; pushing and pulling; biological exposure to bacteria and communicable diseases
