The Department of English at Texas State University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor,with specialty in Shakespeare and Early Modern Literature and Culture. The successful applicant will maintain an active research agenda and record of publication and will teach both undergraduate and graduate courses on Shakespeare. In addition to Shakespeare,teaching assignments may include courses within candidate's other areas of interest.

Ability to teach and conduct research in one (ormore) of the following areas:
Seventeenth- and/or Eighteenth-Century British Literature; drama; material culture and performance histories; global Shakespeare and adaptation studies;textual editing; early modern environmental humanities andecocriticism and/or digital humanities are especially desirable.

The teaching assignment may include core English courses, such as introductory literature surveys. All positions are subject to availability of funds. Appointment begins Fall 2027.

• Ph.D. in English or closely related field that meetsaccreditation requirements (18 graduate hours in English), withdegree completed at time of appointment.
• Specialization in Shakespeare and Early Modern Literature and Culture
• Background and/or experience commensurate with the position of assistant professor and sufficient to teach graduate courses in the specialization.

• Demonstrated ability in scholarly research on Shakespeare and Early Modern Literature and Culture.
• Documented Experience teaching Shakespeare at thepost-secondary level
• Ability to teach and conduct research in one (or more) of the following areas:
  Seventeenth and/or Eighteenth Century British Literature; drama; material culture and performance histories; global Shakespeare and adaptation studies; textual editing; orearly modern environmental humanities and ecocriticism and/ordigital humanities.
• Experience in mentoring and advising under-representedstudents.
