About this role

A Process Engineer is responsible for the process development and optimization of sintered magnet production processes here, at Noveon Magnetics. Responsibilities include the commissioning of process equipment, ramp‑up to production volumes, daily yield sustenance and troubleshooting, process documentation, and training of technicians and operators.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • New product introduction to manufacturing – working closely with engineering, technology, production, and quality engineering teams to release new equipment to production. This includes installation, commissioning and qualification, processing material through the line and optimizing recipes for each critical process. Hands‑on experience on the production floor is essential.
  • Daily line sustenance – primarily responsible for tracking and reporting data in production, sustaining the line, maintaining yield, troubleshooting, and resolving production issues working with maintenance and quality teams.
  • Primarily responsible for originating and maintaining all production related documents including process specifications, design rules, SOPs, WI, ECNs.
  • Training technicians and operators as required.
  • Conducting research to develop new and improved processes for manufacturing.
  • Evaluating processes and equipment to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Evaluating expansion projects for feasibility and compliance with sound engineering design.
We are looking for someone who:
  • Has a minimum level of 4 years’ experience in process engineering or an adjacent engineering discipline.
  • Has a strong process engineering background in the powder metallurgy manufacturing industry or chemical process industry.
  • Possesses knowledge in developing P& industrial processes involving pressure vessels, vacuum equipment, heat exchangers, and other processes that involve measurement and control of gas, fluid, and material streams.
  • Has expertise in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics.
  • Has expertise in process optimization and structured problem‑solving techniques. Strong background in statistical methods and control charts is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in jet milling, pressing of metal powders, vacuum sintering and annealing is preferred.
  • Is able to manipulate data using Excel or other software to extract meaningful information from data.
  • Possesses a good work ethic and attitude. Willing to learn new skills. Ability to work efficiently in a matrix organization and startup environment. Deliver results with minimum supervision.
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to move up to 50lbs.
  • Possesses manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately.
  • Can wear PPE.
  • Comfortable standing for long periods of time, up to and exceeding 60 minutes.
  • Is capable of making repetitive movements including, but not limited to, sitting, squatting and walking up and down stairs.
