Your impactJacobs assists public agencies and private entities with operations, maintenance and asset management of water and wastewater utilities, public works and industrial facilities. Throughout this internship, you will conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on wastewater treatment plant and related facilities equipment. If you have a genuine interest in environmental sciences and would like to have hands‑on experience in serving the community while being a good steward of the environment, this is the internship for you!
DutiesAnd Responsibilities
- Participate in field operations & maintenance at a wastewater treatment facility managed by Jacobs
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on buildings, structures, grounds, machinery and equipment
- Replace packing in pumps or valves; replace bearings in motors, pumps and other equipment
- Examine equipment failures to identify causes and to prevent recurrences
- Install and set up new equipment
- Ensure the safety, health, and well‑being of you and your team
- Basic understanding of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to enter data into a maintenance data management system
- Candidate must be 18 years of age and, ideally, in pursuit of a degree or certificate program with an accredited university or technical college
- Ability to work outside for extended periods of time

The base salary range for this position is $32,500.00 to $45,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
