About the RoleNoveon Magnetics is currently searching for an experienced and highly analytical QC/QA Technician to join our production department. The role involves inspecting and testing products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure they meet established quality standards, identifying defects, reporting issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Leading plant-wide SPC strategy, deployment, and sustainment across production, assembly, and test operations.
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining control charts, process monitoring systems, and reaction plans.
- Analyzing process capability (Cp, Cpk, Pp, Ppk) and driving initiatives to reduce variation and defects.
- Managing and mentoring SPC teams and support engineers to ensure consistent application of statistical methods.
- Designing and delivering SPC training programs for engineers, operators, and technicians.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives using SPC, root cause analysis, and defect prevention tools.
- Maintaining and enhancing SPC databases and digital systems for traceability and reporting.
- Working closely with IT and dashboard teams to design and integrate SPC data systems, leveraging tools such as JMP and Minitab.
- Collaborating with Quality, Engineering, and Operations to improve yield, cycle time, and overall process performance.
- Supporting internal and external audits and ensuring compliance with quality standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer‑specific requirements.
- Developing and standardizing control methodologies, inspection strategies, and sampling plans.
- Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting on process performance to leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electronics, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field).
- 5+ years of experience in SPC, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of SPC tools, including control charts, capability analysis, and statistical methods.
- Experience implementing SPC systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience leading teams and driving cross‑functional initiatives.
- Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
- Strong understanding of quality systems and audit requirements.
- Background in training development and delivery for technical subjects.
- Experience building or managing SPC or quality data systems/databases.
- Certification or working knowledge of core quality tools (FMEA, Control Plans, CAPA, etc.).
- Experience in high‑volume manufacturing environments.
- Able to move up to 20 lbs.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Can wear PPE.
- Capable of making repetitive movements, including sitting, squatting, and walking up and down stairs.
