Nontenure Faculty Pool - Mechanical Engineering
Position:
Mechanical Engineering, Ingram School of Engineering, College of Science and Engineering, San Marcos campus.
Ingram School of Engineering seeks to develop a pool of candidates for temporary/nontenured faculty positions to teach in the Mechanical Engineering Program. Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based upon student demand each semester. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations, continuity of funding, and school need. Successful candidates will teach at San Marcos.
Position covers fall 2026, spring 2027, and summer 2027 semesters. This posting does not indicate an immediate vacancy; candidates remain on the pool for consideration if a need arises.
- A minimum of a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering field.
- Strong academic background in control systems and robotics, thermal-fluid sciences, or solid mechanics.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- A PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering field.
- Previous experience teaching undergraduate engineering courses as instructor of record.
- Expertise with Industry 4.0 tools and technologies.
- Industrial experience.
