Position Overview

The MEP Construction Manager plays a critical field leadership role in the fast-tracked execution of Fleet’s mega-scale, mission-critical data center campuses. Reporting to the Sr. Construction Manager (MEP) where one is staffed — or directly to the Director of Construction when the CM leads the MEP discipline on a campus — this role acts as the owner/operator representative for the MEP discipline, directly owning the oversight, safety, quality, and schedule adherence of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and mission-critical systems scopes — including medium-to-low voltage electrical distribution, standby/emergency generation, heavy mechanical cooling, integrated controls/BMS, and fire/life-safety and security systems.

This individual drives accountability across General Contractors and trade partners, serving as a key cross-functional link between field execution, internal design and engineering teams, commissioning agents, and Supply Chain.

Key Responsibilities

Project Governance & Delivery

Hold the General Contractor and MEP tier-1 partners accountable for the execution of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and mission-critical systems scopes.
  • Milestone Protection:
Track and safeguard project schedules, budgets, and quality metrics, proactively identifying, escalating, and mitigating critical-path risks.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment:
Coordinate MEP rough-in, systems integration, and energization sequencing with the CSA and power scopes; represent field operations during internal Preconstruction and Design reviews.
  • Owner Oversight:
Lead site-based progress evaluations, owner inspections, and MEP milestone sign-offs.

Technical, Quality & Commissioning Oversight

  • Engineering & Quality Assurance:
Audit and verify that MV/LV electrical, mechanical cooling, controls/BMS, and mission-critical installations comply with Fleet design documents, engineering specifications, and quality benchmarks.
  • Standards & Reliability:
Verify GC compliance with Fleet’s high-availability, mission-critical resiliency requirements, building codes, municipal permitting, and engineering specifications.
  • Change Management:
Review, validate, and sign off on technical submittals, RFIs, and field changes through Procore.
  • Supply Chain Coordination:
Align MEP readiness with the delivery and rigging schedules of long-lead OFCI equipment (e.g., switch gear, generators, chillers, UPS).
  • Commissioning & Turnover:
Support MEP participation in Level 1 through Level 5 commissioning with commissioning and operations teams; witness and validate quality documentation and punch-list completion.
