Job Description- Monitors and maintains the local and wide area network infrastructure equipment, including but not limited to hubs, modems, switches, network appliances, and routers.
- Utilizes network management tools to monitor and maintain network health and performance.
- Monitors and maintains network circuitry technologies and connections, including but not limited to frame relay, broadband, and satellite.
- Monitors and maintains enterprise wiring infrastructure including but not limited to fiber, UTP, wireless and network racks.
- Monitors and maintains virtual private network infrastructure.
- Isolates and resolves network-related service calls and problems.
- Maintains Networking Services documentation.
- Serves as the primary liaison between information technology service providers for interface and customization needs.
- Researches new products and potential solutions.
- Manages internal Network Services projects.
- Proactive in identifying problems and takes necessary steps or implements procedures to resolve problems before they become larger and more critical.
- Provides technical assistance regarding all network devices, circuitry and core infrastructure throughout the project, including troubleshooting, configuring, installing, documenting, and sustaining the projects network infrastructure.
- Conducts appropriate risk analysis before making decisions related to technology and infrastructure.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field is required.
- A minimum of three years of experience in Information Technology pertaining to networking technologies is required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong management and organizational skills; ability to work across all levels of management and staff.
- Ability to work under minimum supervision.
