Purchasing Agent

Priority Personnel is hiring a Purchasing Agent for a manufacturing company located in San Marcos, TX. This employee searches, evaluates, and purchases goods and services for the organization. This role works closely with vendors, negotiates pricing and contracts, monitors inventory levels, and ensures timely delivery of materials while maintaining cost‑effective purchasing practices.

Pay rate: $30/hour

Work Schedule:

Mon‑Fri 8am‑5pm

• Source and evaluate suppliers and vendors.
• Obtain and compare price quotations.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms.
• Prepare and process purchase orders.
• Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies as needed.
• Track orders and ensure on‑time delivery.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
• Resolve issues related to deliveries, quality, or pricing discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and purchasing procedures.
• Collaborate with internal departments to determine procurement needs.
• Analyze market trends and identify cost‑saving opportunities.

• High school diploma or equivalent;
  Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or a related field.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with ERP or purchasing software preferred.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions.
