At Maslow’s Campus Communities, the General Manager serves as the on-site leader for the community and is accountable for daily operations, team leadership, and overall asset performance. This position is responsible for driving leasing and marketing execution, maintaining budget discipline, and partnering closely with the Maintenance Manager and the corporate support team to protect and enhance long-term asset value.
Maslow’s Campus Communities may, with notice, adjust, add, or eliminate job responsibilities as necessary to meet changing business and operational requirements.
Responsibilities:The General Manager is accountable for the overall performance of the community and collaborates across departments to:
- Oversee all day-to-day property operations, ensuring compliance with Maslow’s policies, procedures, and property standards.
- Lead all aspects of on-site staffing, including hiring, training, performance management, career development, conflict resolution, and employee recognition across leasing, administrative, bookkeeping, maintenance, and Community Assistant teams.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, scheduling, timekeeping, and adherence to labor and HR guidelines.
- Execute the approved annual marketing and leasing plan in collaboration with corporate leadership.
- Maintain a strong understanding of current leasing performance, pre-leasing velocity, renewal activity, and occupancy trends.
- Track, analyze, and communicate competitor pricing, concessions, floor plans, and marketing activity.
- Participate in leasing strategy discussions and provide on-site support as needed to achieve occupancy and revenue goals.
- Operate the property within the approved annual budget.
- Oversee purchasing activities and vendor relationships.
- Review monthly financial statements and explain any variances related to income, expenses, or NOI performance.
- Partner with the Resident Services Manager to ensure high-quality resident experience and assist with escalated resident concerns and customer service issues, as needed.
- Support and enforce rent collection policies, ensuring rent is paid on time and the collections process is followed consistently and professionally.
- Oversee all on-site maintenance operations through close coordination with the Maintenance Manager and all members of the maintenance team.
- In collaboration with the Maintenance Manager, lead the annual turnover process from move-out through move-in, confirming unit readiness and budget compliance.
- Provide oversight to ensure the Resident Experience Manager effectively plans, executes, and delivers resident events in alignment with approved budgets.
- Work collaboratively with the Maintenance Manager and VP of Asset Management on capital improvement projects and major repairs.
- Uphold Maslow’s standards related to building condition, life-safety, preventative maintenance, and vendor oversight.
- Uphold Maslow’s property standards related to curb appeal, cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation.
- Complete special projects, tasks, and initiatives as assigned.
- Act as the on-site ambassador of Maslow’s brand, values, and operating philosophy.
The ideal candidate is a strong on-site operator with proven leadership experience in student housing or multifamily operations. They bring a balance of financial discipline, operational rigor, and resident-focused service, and are comfortable working collaboratively with corporate partners to execute the community marketing plan and asset management.

Qualifications:- 5–10 years of experience in student housing or multifamily property management, with prior General Manager or equivalent leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Proven experience managing on-site teams, budgets, and operational performance.
- Strong understanding of leasing strategy, market analysis, and resident lifecycle management.
- Experience collaborating on Cap Ex projects and working with asset management teams.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with property management systems (Entrata experience preferred).
- This role requires daily, on-site leadership at the property.
