About This RoleNoveon Magnetics is looking for someone who has 3+ years of experience in surface finishing for direct manufacturing and commercialization. Expertise in electroplating metals and metallic alloys in aqueous solutions, pre‑treatment, cleaning, pickling, Zn, phosphate, Ni/Cu, epoxy, etc., and diagnosis and failure analysis of coatings. The person will assist in electroplating and corrosion‑resistance plating processes on pilot and production lines at Noveon, ensuring proper application of corrosion‑resistant coatings to Noveon products.

- Assisting the plating engineer in developing wet processes, as well as related racking and testing procedures to produce high quality coatings and plating on magnet products.
- Assisting in processing production work orders, as well as recording and reporting of data.
- Performing visual inspections, controlling plating thickness, and ensuring product quality.
- Maintaining proper plating bath chemistries, including performance of chemical titrations, basic controller, and measurement operations.
- Performing regular preventive maintenance work and recording and reporting equipment deficiencies in a timely manner.
- Managing storage of materials, supplies, reports, corrosion tests, data, and data analysis.
- Working with senior engineers to run experiments and help implement improvements and modifications to the plating line.
- Supporting the QC team in sampling analysis for process and product quality.
- Has a basic understanding of pretreatment and wet processes for coating and plating.
- Knows how to use Excel to create and populate production data.
- Possesses knowledge of safe methods of handling materials and chemicals.
- Is comfortable with measurement equipment such as micrometers, pH meters, and measuring scopes.
- Has an Associate degree with 2+ years of work experience.
- Has experience with wet processes for coating/plating Zn, phosphate, Ni/Cu and epoxy (preferred).
- Has experience with chemical titrations (preferred).
- Can follow written and verbal instructions and work independently with minimum supervision from managers and/or peers.
- Is able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to pass a drug screening, medical physical and, if applicable, visual testing.
- Able to move up to 50 lbs.
- Possesses manual dexterity to assemble parts or pieces quickly and accurately.
- Can wear PPE.
- Comfortable standing for long periods of time, up to and exceeding 60 minutes.
- Can perform repetitive movements including, but not limited to, sitting, squatting and walking up and down stairs.
