Structural Concrete Fabricator & Painter
Priority Personnel is hiring a Structural Concrete Fabricator & Painter for a company located in San Marcos, TX.
Pay rate: $/hour
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday/7:00am-3:30pm with occasional OT
The Concrete Fabricator is a dual-role position responsible for both sculpting custom play sculptures using GFRC over rebar and lath substructures, and finishing them with high-quality paints and stains. This role requires a strong artistic background, a meticulous eye for detail, and hands-on experience in both sculpting and finishing techniques.
Job Duties- Sculpting Duties:
- Sculpt and shape GFRC over rebar and lath substructures to create artistic and detailed play sculptures.
- Use a variety of sculpting tools and techniques to achieve textures, shapes, and designs.
- Collaborate with designers and engineers to realize both structural and creative goals.
- Participate in mold creation for concrete products.
- Coloring & Finishing Duties:
- Apply polyurethane, acrylic latex paint, and water-based concrete stains to GFRC structures and metal frames.
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, and priming.
- Match finishes to design plans, blueprints, and customer specifications.
- Use spraying, brushing, and rolling methods to apply coatings.
- Inspect surfaces for coverage, consistency, and quality.
- General Responsibilities:
- Maintain clean and organized work spaces, ensuring tools and materials are stored properly.
- Assist in setup and preparation of materials for sculpting and painting.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and wear proper PPE.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, time, and materials used.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in sculpture, fine arts, or painting preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in sculpting and/or painting concrete or similar materials.
- Proficient in sculpting and painting techniques, tools, and safety practices.
- Strong artistic skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret design plans and blueprints.
- Physically capable of lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
