Machinist I – San Marcos, TX
The San Marcos, TX facility has a Machinist I position available. You will produce machined parts by setting up and operating a CNC and using precision hand measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.).
2nd Shift: Monday‑Friday 3pm – 11:30pm; will train on 1st Shift for up to 180 days.
What You Will Do- Assembles, repairs, and fabricates metal parts into sub‑units or complete units using operating mechanical equipment.
- Takes measurements of material and selects appropriate machines for the process.
- Performs machining setups and adjusts as required.
- Conducts inspections of work produced.
- Checks SPC charts for frequency of checks, gauging, and measurements.
- Keeps records and maintains quality/safety standards.
- Preforms other duties as required.
Generally requires an HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g., G.E.D. in the U.S.) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Experience in interpreting blueprints, work orders, engineering plans, specifications, reference planes, designs sketches and geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) for operation, material, and dimensional requirements.
- Previous manufacturing assembly experience.
- Experience with using hand and/or power tools.
- Experience working with various metals.
- 3‑4 years of relevant experience working in machining parts.
