About the RoleFlow Control Industries, a growing manufacturer of pressure-independent valves for commercial, fluid-based HVAC systems, is opening a new manufacturing facility in Texas and looking for an experienced Production Manager to help set up and run it. This role owns day-to-day Production, Material Handling/Inventory, and Shipping/Receiving at the new site, building the team, processes, and standards from the ground up at a brand-new facility.
Production Engineering, Purchasing, and Service will continue to be handled primarily out of our Seattle facility, at least initially. This role will assist and coordinate with these functions rather than own them outright to start. This is a rare opportunity to shape a facilities operations rather than inherit someone else’s.
Key Responsibilities- Own day-to-day operations across Production,Material Handling/Inventory,and Shipping/Receiving
- Plan, organize, and oversee daily production schedules to meet customer delivery deadlines
- Hire, train, and lead the team as the new facility ramps up from the ground floor
- Ensure valves are built and produced to spec, with consistent quality control, testing, and inspection standards
- Set and maintain appropriate inventory levels
- Maintain a safe working environment that complies withOSHA and relevant health & safety regulations
- Coordinate with Engineering,Purchasing, and Sales to keep custom and standard orders moving smoothly, includingtimelycommunication on the production schedule for pending,expedited, or at-risk orders
- Track production KPIs (throughput, scrap/rework, on-time delivery) and report on performance to leadership
- Identify and drive continuous improvement (lean manufacturing) initiatives to reduce costs and downtime
- Develop department-level plans, financial objectives, and budgets
- Work toward compliance with applicable quality standards (e.g.ISO 9001) as the facility's certifications are established
- Completeinitialtraining at Flow Control's Seattle facility during the early months in the role, to learn production standards, systems, and quality processes firsthand before they'rebuilt out on-site in Texas
- Establish andmaintaina team atmosphere with a drive for constant improvement
- Experience in a production or manufacturing management role; 5+ years specifically as a Production Manager or Team Lead is preferred, but not required
- Experience in the valve industry strongly preferred, ideally with pressure-independent or control valves for HVAC/fluid systems
- Prior experience in industrial or precision manufacturing (machining, assembly, or foundry environments) considered
- Proven ability to lead and develop a team, including hiring and training new staff
- Strong understanding of production scheduling,purchasing/inventory management, quality control, and safety compliance
- Comfortable operating with significant autonomy in a growing, dynamic environment where processes may not yet be fully in place — this is a new site, andyou'llbe building as much as running it
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, business, or a related field preferred; equivalent hands‑on experience will also be considered
- ERP software experience (e.g.Epicor) and advanced Excel skills a plus
- Willingness to travel to our Seattle, WA facility for training during theinitialmonths in the roleandperiodically thereafter
$115,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience.

This position is based at Flow Control Industries' new manufacturing facility in San Marcos, Texas. Some travel to our Seattle, WA facility should be expected, though this position is not otherwise a traveling role.
