Responsibilities
San Marcos Treatment Center, a 212-bed, seclusion free psychiatric residential treatment facility located between Austin and San Antonio in the heart of Central Texas. The center spans 65 acres with trees and wildlife. It has 13 unique living units separated by gender, age, and development levels with two swimming pools, two gymnasiums, sports court, playing fields, ropes course, canteen, social area, and a healing trail.
We provide 24‑hour psychiatric care to girls and boys ages 6 to 17 with customized therapeutic approaches and intensive behavioral programs that teach young patients to moderate their behavior, manage emotions and improve social functioning.

PMHNP will function in an expanded role as a professional nurse, performing acts of medical diagnosis or prescription of medical therapeutic or corrective measures in collaboration with and under the direction of a physician licensed to practice medicine in this State. The primary responsibilities will include:
- Performing H&P’s as per hospital guidelines.
- Assisting the physician in the care and treatment of patients within licensure guidelines.
- Providing consultation as needed per hospital guidelines.
- Providing coverage as needed for psychiatrists.
- Rotating weekday on‑call schedule (2 weekdays on‑call a month) and weekend on‑call schedule (1 weekend on‑call every 6 weeks).
Education:
Must be a Licensed RN and a Certified Registered PMHNP, meeting all requirements set forth by the State of Texas.
Experience:
At least 3 years nursing experience with a minimum of 1 year psychiatric nursing experience.
Knowledge /
Skills:
Must document and demonstrate background, experience, training and competence, and adherence to the ethics of the profession.
