Responsibilities
San Marcos Treatment Center, a 212‑bed, seclusion‑free psychiatric residential treatment facility located between Austin and San Antonio in the heart of Central Texas! The facility spans 65 acres and offers abundant trees and wildlife, 13 unique living units separated by gender, age, and development levels, two swimming pools, two gymnasiums, a sports court, playing fields, a ropes course, a canteen, a social area, and a healing trail.
We provide 24‑hour psychiatric care to girls and boys ages 6 to 17 with customized therapeutic approaches and intensive behavioral programs that teach young patients to moderate their behavior, manage emotions and improve social functioning.
A PMHNP will function in the expanded role of a professional nurse, performing acts of medical diagnosis or prescription of medical therapeutic or corrective measures in collaboration with and under the direction of a physician licensed to practice medicine in this state. The primary responsibilities include performing H&Ps as per hospital guidelines, assisting the physician in the care and treatment of patients within licensure guidelines, consulting as needed per hospital guidelines, providing coverage as required for psychiatrists, and rotating weekday (2 weekdays on‑call a month) and weekend (1 weekend on‑call every 6 weeks) on‑call schedules.
QualificationsEducation:
Must be a licensed RN and a certified registered PMHNP, meeting all requirements set forth by the state of Texas. At least 3 years of nursing experience with a minimum of 1 year in psychiatric nursing experience required.

Must document and demonstrate background, experience, training and competence, and adherence to the ethics of the profession.
